'The 2019 elections will not hold on social media, If you don't have business with politics, stop wasting your data' - Journalist, Tope Aileru

Nigerian journalist based in Ghana, Tope Aileru has just shared an interesting perspective on the 2019 general elections in NIgeria.

According to him, 'the elections on February 16 and March 2, 2019 will not hold on social media. If you don't have business with voting (politics), stop wasting your data'.
He went on to say, 'I can't deal with the energy I see people waste on unnecessary arguments and fights on social media over this elections, when indeed those stuffs would eventually count for nothing.
More than 50% of those exchanging rants and bats on social media don't even have PVC, not to talk about having any influence they can pull on votes. And yet, they are the ones who do more than 10 political posts per day.
Politics is business and if you don't have anything to buy or sell in that market, I advise you spare your time and data on how to make your life better, personally.

Photos: Thai, Malaysian Police bust Nigerian online romance scam gang; arrest seven men and seven women

Thai police and their Malaysian counterparts have busted a
Nigerian gang operating online romance scams, the same gang that fled Thailand a year ago to set up in Kuala Lumpur.
Thai immigration police head Maj-Gen Surachate Hakparn, in his capacity as deputy director of the Thailand's Action Taskforce for Information Technology Crime Suppression (TACTICS), on Wednesday led his team to join with Malaysian economic crime busters to search seven locations in Kuala Lumpur.
At the same time, Thai police raided three locations in Thailand that allegedly had links to the gang.

The operation in Kuala Lumpur led to the arrest of seven Nigerians, all of whom were wanted for alleged fraud in Thailand, and seven female Thai accomplices.
Officers also seized computers and cell phones showing chat messages with victims, many of whom were in process of being convinced to wire money, and some scripts to persuade victims.
The romance scams would usually involve criminals using bogus white male identities to woo and later persuade women to wire money to pay an import tariff and fee for the delivery of overseas “gifts".

Surachate said TACTICS had come down hard on this gang, prompting the criminals to flee to Malaysia about a year ago. The gang set up their new base and resumed the romance scams, he said.
Surachate claimed that this gang had duped people of nearly Bt100 million in total.
Last year, TACTICS co-operated with their foreign counterparts to make nine arrests in seven countries.

'You were too busy feeding ill thoughts, bad wishes and rotten emotions' - IK Ogbonna's wife Sonia writes

Amidst the trouble in the marriage of Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna, his wife Sonia has taken to her Instagram page again to share a cryptic post.

She wrote: 'You can choose between REACTING to people or situations or ACTING DELIBERATELY. Reaction is triggered and DETERMINED by others/their behavior towards us, it’s an impulse, a need to respond in the way we were approached - often aggressively or negatively and it’s sort of a mechanism of defense. But before you REACT you need to ask yourself “Is this action reflecting my true nature and who I really am or wish to be?” . Don’t allow anyone have a power over you. I choose to be in charge over my life so I ACT DELIBERATELY. Meaning, I want my actions to be a reflection of WHO I AM, no matter what & no matter circumstances. What you say or think is who you are, how I respond is who I am. I love me some me especially when I stay true to myself , against odds. Life isn’t perfect but it’s SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL, and I wish you recover from whatever you are going through so you can as well realize the same, before it passes you by because you were too busy feeding ill thoughts, bad wishes and rotten emotions instead filling your mind with gratitude & love. I’m a light baby, can’t you feel it.'

No cause for worry over Nnamdi Kanu's outburst - Presidency

The Presidency has finally reacted to the sudden re-emergence of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu saying, 'Nigeria under President Buhari is strong enough to defend its territory against any threat'.

The presidency also assured all Nigerians that there is no reason to worry about the hollow outburst by Nnamdi Kanu, the disputed leader of IPOB on returning to the country “with hell’’.

Instead, we see the re-enactment of his bizarre, episodic threat as a mere distraction which will not be allowed to detract from the existing cordial relations between Nigeria and other countries.

The Buhari administration is in constant touch with other friendly nations and has the best assurances that they would continue to reciprocate the respect Nigeria has for the sovereignty of their nations.

Nigerians have nothing to fear from this.

Khashoggi's son gives the bad eye to Saudi Crown Prince blamed for death of his father as they meet in Riyadh

Pictures have emerged showing the son of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia today and he wore a scowl on his face as he shook hands with the Prince who has been blamed for the death of his father.

During the meeting today in Riyadh, Salah bin Jamal Khashoggi, the son of slain Jamal Khashoggi was seen in a stern handshake with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the powerful heir to Saudi Arabia's throne, at the city's Yamama Palace.

King Salman was also present as the royals "offered their condolences" to grieving family members of Khashoggi, who included Salah's brother Sahel.

As the de facto ruler of the kingdom, the Crown Prince has been widely blamed for the death of Khashoggi, which was carried out by a hit squad of senior Saudi intelligence officials.  Critics suspect Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the high-profile operation or at least knew about it.

It comes amid claims parts of the writer's body including his disfigured face have been found in the grounds of the Saudi consul general's home in Istanbul, with separate reports saying the remains were found down a well at the property.

Jamal Khashoggi

But in a speech earlier today, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan suggested a corpse had not yet been discovered and called on Saudi Arabia to reveal its location.

Earlier, the Turkish president said Khashoggi's "savage" murder was planned by a Saudi hit squad who disabled CCTV at the Istanbul consulate before killing the writer and giving his body to a local fixer.

Erdogan also assured the family of the slain journalist that Ankara would do "everything" to solve the case as he offered his condolences over during a telephone call to Khashoggi's son Abdullah.

In an explosive speech today, Erdogan said there were strong signs a Saudi team plotted to kill the journalist days before his death on October 2.

The 64-year-old described it as a "political murder" but stopped short of directly blaming Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, instead demanding to know "who gave the orders" for the operation.

In response, Saudi King Salman said at a cabinet meeting this afternoon that those responsible for Khashoggi's slaying would be held "accountable".
